When should you NOT book a massage?

In most cases massage is a safe treatment, but it does increase the circulation of blood and lymph in the body.

You should not have a massage while under the influence of alcohol or straight after a meal.

Contraindications to classic, relaxation and Kobido massage:

  • any illness with a high temperature (above 38°C), acute and subacute inflammation, broken skin (an unhealed tattoo!), the early period after an injury (I am not a physiotherapist and do not offer therapeutic massage!),
  • bacterial, viral or fungal skin conditions,
  • fresh scars, bruises, skin inflammation, varicose veins (in these cases only healthy parts of the body can be massaged),
  • allergies to the products used for massage,
  • bleeding or a tendency to bleed,
  • uncompensated heart defects, aneurysms, blood clots, a recent heart attack,
  • malignant and benign tumours,
  • the first trimester and the last month of a healthy pregnancy,
  • a high-risk pregnancy,
  • untreated high blood pressure,
  • thrombosis,
  • recent surgery.

For Kobido massage, the following are also contraindications:

  • Botox injections within the last 2 weeks,
  • hyaluronic acid or other filler injections within the last 4 weeks,
  • dental implants within the last month,
  • mesotherapy within the last 3 days.

If you have had any other cosmetic treatments in the last 2 weeks, let your massage therapist know!

Which type of massage is right for me?

Do you have massages regularly? Then you probably know the answer best.

Not very familiar with the world of massage, but want to relax? I recommend classic massage.

Is this your (almost) first massage and you’re not yet sure whether you’re comfortable being touched? I recommend Kobido massage.

Want a one-off treat and some relief from stress? I recommend Kobido massage.

Can I book more than one massage in a single visit?

If you would like both a body and a face massage, that is possible in one visit. In that case only a partial classic massage is possible, simply because I can’t massage for more than 2.5 hours in one go, and you won’t manage to lie still any longer — there are limits.

This combination is available only on special request, after contacting the massage therapist individually.

How is hygiene maintained?

Before and after each visit, the massage table is cleaned with a surface cleaning and disinfecting spray (a class IIa medical device under the Medical Devices Act, intended for disinfecting non-invasive medical devices). There is also a disposable non-woven cover between you and the table. Towels are used once, then washed and dried at a high temperature. In line with the requirements for massage salons, there is a sink in the massage space.

I wash my hands and any equipment that allows it (e.g. cups) with antibacterial soap and use a water-alcohol disinfectant or the disinfecting spray mentioned above. Equipment that cannot be washed (bamboo sticks, the massager) is disinfected with the spray; the massager is also covered with a disposable glove for each individual treatment.

How much do I need to undress for a treatment?
  • Reiki is done fully clothed.
  • For Kobido massage you only need to take off your top and tuck your bra straps under your arms. Everyone gets a towel to cover up for comfort.
  • For leg drainage, taking off your trousers and socks is enough.
  • For body massage:
    • if you only want your legs massaged — just trousers and socks;
    • if you want a full-body massage, you undress down to your underwear; your privacy is protected by a towel;
    • if you want your back massaged, I will also ask you to take off your trousers (you can keep your socks on), because massaging the lower back requires lowering the waistband of your underwear slightly — always under a towel.
